The main difference is that it also supports inclusion of the subcategories of the selected category, which means that when you select a category from the category filter, the module gives you the ability to choose whether you prefer subcategories to be included or not.

It also provides an alternative view, using a jQuery accordion style, while letting the user to disable the accordion CSS or even write his own CSS code.
