Do you need by default the articles ordered by date? by id? by feature? ascending? descending? Just install this plugin, enable it and enjoy.

Works with all versions of Joomla 2.5 and 3.0. Tested up to 3.2.3

Install and enable DefaultOrder in Plugin Manager > Type System.

Params: Default Order
Select the field for default ordering.
Default: ID

Params: Default Direction
Select default direction for ordering.
Default: Descending
