How Does SafePay Work?

Both online merchants and consumers are required to register themselves to SafePay Network. Each time a consumer’s payment information is entered in the shopping cart, SafePay sends a real-time Verification Request directly to their SafePay smartphone app, asking them to verify if the activity is legitimate or fraudulent. If the transaction is legitimate, the consumer would simply click “Confirm” (on the SafePay app) and they safely proceed to the final step of the online checkout process. However, if the activity is a result of a fraudulent attack, the consumer would click “Deny” on their SafePay app. This response will result in the online shopping cart terminating before the final checkout step, protecting your business from a fraud-chargeback and other such financial losses.

All communications between the online shopping cart, SafePay Network and the consumer takes place within a few seconds. Based on the consumer’s responses, SafePay Network returns a value code back to the shopping cart, which determines the next steps and outcome of the cart:
- When the customer CONFIRMS their verification request, they will safely proceed to the final stage of the shopping cart, where they can complete their online shopping activity.

- When the customer DENIES their verification request, SafePay Network will immediately stop the shopping cart from moving ahead to the final stage of the online order. Through this protocol, your business has just been protected from a fraud attack and a fraud-chargeback.

- When a registered customer does not respond to the verification request, merchants will be able to self manage the next steps of the shopping cart, via the SafePay control settings in the magento admin control panel:
a) Allow ALL transactions to move to the final stages of the checkout; or
b) Allow ALL transactions to RESTART, requesting the registered consumer to respond to the SafePay Verification Request; or
c) Create dollar amount thresholds to allow transactions that fall under this value to move to the final stages of the checkout process; and for all transactions that are above the threshold amount to RESTART, reminding the consumer that they are requested to respond to the verification request.

- When a consumer is not registered to SafePay Network, they will proceed to the final checkout stages of the cart, without any interference to your online business. It's truly "Business-As-Usual". SafePay Network won't be able to protect your business against the risk of online fraud.

How To Register

1) Download your FREE SafePay Network Extension File for Magento;
2) Register your subscription account with SafePay Network by visiting: https://www.usesafepay.com/portal/register_retailer.
3) Once you have completed the registration and subscription of your SafePay Online Retailer Account, enter your SafePay Username and Password into the Control Admin Panel on the SafePay Network Extension File. It’s that simple!!
