Amazon S3 Upload

Overview

Downloadable products files in Magento are saved on your server internal storage. This makes Magento consuming hundreds of gigabytes of precious storage, increases your server load and consumes its bandwidth.

This module give you the ability to use the cheaper bandwidth from Amazon S3 and save the resources of your server for your customers. It uploads automatically all the downloaded product files from your store to your Amazon S3 account without having you to upload the product on S3 and add the URL to the product settings. The upload process for downloadable product files is the same. However after you click the "Save" button, all files are moved to your S3 bucket and their corresponding entries in Magento are substituted with Amazon S3 URLs.

The module can work with our Amazon S3 Downloadable Products or it can be used as a stand-alone module. However we advice you to use both modules to achieve gain greater performance and improved security for your files.

Usage

All you need to do is:

- Install the module - the installation is simple and straightforward. Extract the archive and copy the directory called "app" to your Magento root directory. It contains all the files of the module.

- Create a S3 bucket to hold your downloadable products

- Enter your Amazon Access Key, Secret Key and the name of the bucket in the administration area

- Upload your downloadable products files as usual
