Vertex SMB TaxCentral Magento extension allows shoppers to harness the powerful tax calculation tools of Vertex SMB TaxCentral to provide instant and accurate sales tax calculation for cart quotes and orders. Vertex SMB TaxCentral provides comprehensive solutions for accurate locale-specific sales tax calculation, exceptions management, returns management, and tax reports.

A key feature of this extension is to provide instant tax calculation for a shopping cart quote. The shopper can enter his or her address and request an tax quote for the given address. The extension calculates the precise tax amount for the given address and instantly returns the tax amount to the shopper.

Another key feature of this extension is to provide instant address verification to ensure the accuracy of the tax calculation. Invalid addresses are flagged and the shopper is prompted to reenter the correct address.

The extension also offers the option of sending all invoice information to Vertex SMB TaxCentral. This can be used to generate and manage comprehensive tax reports.

The extension is highly configurable and can be customized for your unique workflow. However, two bugs should be noted as they can affect the accuracy the tax calculation. These bugs are Magento bugs that have been submitted to Magento but have not been resolved yet. Note that these bugs rarely come up and can easily be avoided. The bug reports can be found here:
