A focus was put to low ressource usage and fast page-load times. All requests are executed asynchronous, java scripts are just loaded once...
I originally used a EasyShareThis (paid) which uses a proprieatary java-script that gets loaded through the web, what caused pretty high page-load times on high-traffic sites.
Therefore I took this old plugin of mine, made it Joomla 2.5 ready and put effort in tuning it.
