Store owners can enjoy huge savings over time by taking advantage of cheaper shipping rates to commercial addresses and by validating an address as correct to avoid customer service issues.

Other commercial / residential shipping address solutions require the customer to select if their address is residential or commercial during checkout. This brings two problems, customer have something extra to enter and they may answer incorrectly.

Use UPS Address Validation and submit the customer shipping address to UPS transparently during checkout and store the result in the Magento admin. If the address is not valid, you can optionally warn the customer or give the customer an error so they cannot continue until they correct the address. Valid addresses will also return the correct shipping price based on the address being residential or commercial. Optionally append some admin defined text to the shipping method name that appears with the order so that your fulfillment system can select the proper address classification.
