Cookie For Comments
Many store owners receive significant spam from bogus submissions of the contact us page form. This solution protects your contact form stopping these spam submissions but still allows genuine contact requests to come through.
The solution works by adding an image asset to the page which when requested creates a cookie containing a random string. When submitting the contact form, this cookie is compared against a value stored to the users session, and if there is no match between the two the form submission is rejected. For automated spam submissions image assets will not be requested, thus the cookie will not be created resulting in the form submission being rejected.
No setup is required and there are no admin settings, just install and the the form protection will be in place for the standard contact us page form.
